  • At least 7+. The wheel requires a level of maturity and concentration.

  • Kids ages 7+ are allowed to attend Coffee & Clay for an additional price of $75. with a paid adult. 

  • No, you do not need any pottery experience to attend a class; we will teach you the basics! You will learn more and more if you decide to pursue ongoing instruction through our  beginner and advanced classes.

  • Not currently, though it’s something we hope to offer in the future. However, if you have a group of 6 we can host a private session for you. Please send us an inquiry via the Birthday, Team Building, Private Lessons, option.

  • Please let us know 72 hours BEFORE the start of the class or workshop and we are happy to reschedule you if possible. Another option would be to send someone in your place, please email us with the name change if doing so. We often hold specialty workshops, so rescheduling isn’t always a possibility.

    If you cancel with less than 24 hours we will NOT be able to offer you a credit or reschedule. This includes Illness, COVID, traffic, daycare, change of plans.

  • You will not be seated if you arrive more than 10 minutes after the class or workshop start time, even if you let us know you are running late; we are not able to hold up the class for you – it’s not respectful of the instructor’s and other participants’ time. Moreover, If you arrive late, you will miss the beginning and foundations of the rest of the class, which will make it challenging for you to follow along during instruction. 

    We do our best to accommodate emergencies and appreciate you understanding that we are real people answering your calls and emails and trying to run a small business!

  • Please wear clothes that can get dirty! Do not wear sandals – sorry, no exceptions, bring an old hand towel and, if you have one, an apron. We have a changing room if needed. 

  • Masks are currently optional.

  • Please bring your own aprons or an old towel to class.

    Private parties are given aprons to use.

  • Yes! We require a six participant minimum for special event group sessions. Please fill out the inquiry form here (scroll down) and include the number of people attending, age range (if kids/teens), two possible dates and times, your email and your phone number. 

    We offer three pottery activities to choose from: pottery wheel, hand building and painting a pre-made piece made in the studio. 

    Pricing (depends on activity):

    Adults: $80-125.

    Kids: $75.

    Time needed: 1.5- 2 hours. Groups of 10 or more should plan for  2.5 hours.

    20% Operation fee for groups of 7 or more.

  • Absolutely! We kindly ask that you clean up and remove all of your trash when your session is over. No glass allowed.

  • Yes, we are glad to host you;  however, you will be charged for six participants.

  • While we are glad that you found our studio and love meeting other clay folks, our studio is reserved for our members. To become a member you must take two four-week classes, which gives you an opportunity to learn our studio operations and get experience with our clays and glazes.  This also allows us to become familiar with your skill level and build a relationship with you. Exceptions (after a single four-week class) are made at the discretion of the studio manager.

  • Expect a two-week turnaround for finished work. You should receive an email when your work is ready to be picked up; if you haven’t received an email within two weeks, feel free to email or drop by the studio. We will hold work for 14 days after the reminder email is generated. Please reach out if you can’t make it in and we are happy to set work aside or ship to you for an additional fee.

  • Please send an email to info@handledpotterystudio.com. Highlight your clay/art related experience, attach a resume and a link your work. Be sure to include your clay making preference – wheel or hand building – and list your availability!

  • Yes, please let us know at the time of your appointment. A flat rate of $26 (per address) will need to be paid prior to shipping. All work is shipped via U.S. Priority Mail and should arrive within 5 business days, from date sent.

  • We offer a limited 2 hour parking space to folks attending classes, workshops, etc. If you need additional parking time, we kindly ask that move your vehicle across the street to the public lot, thank you for your cooperation.
